Palace Visit for Endeavour Learners
05 Dec 2017
Endeavour was recently invited by our patron HRH the Duke of Kent to visit Buckingham Palace in London for a reception and meal. We used the event as an opportunity to say thank you to some of our volunteers and supporters over the last year or so.
Seven young people who have attended Endeavour’s Education Centre also went to London to represent Endeavour and mingle with the Duke and other guests, sharing their experiences and talking about how we had supported them. One young person, Vince, even gave a presentation to the whole room telling his moving story of his return to full time education and progression to college thanks to support from Endeavour.
After the reception, the young people enjoyed a tour of London whilst Endeavour’s supporters headed to the Chinese Dining room for a meal with the Duke.
Patrick Callingham, Head of Education at Endeavour said: “Going to London and visiting the Palace was awesome for our learners. Not only was it a once in lifetime experience visiting the Palace, it was a huge boost for their confidence mixing with our supporters and sharing their stories with everyone. They are still buzzing from the experience!”
