James Keeley Set for Marathon Fundraiser
19 Jul 2017
On the 8th October, our Vice President, James Keeley, will be competing in the 2017 Yorkshire Marathon in support of Endeavour. James is fundraising to ensure that we can continue to improve the futures of young people in need of support.
James’ commitment in representing Endeavour is demonstrated by these efforts in supporting a cause in which he firmly believes. His attitude exhibits the level of dedication which is vital in ensuring that we at Endeavour can make the possibility of personal development and empowerment a reality for many young people.
He has also incorporated other members of the Endeavour family, by setting up a T-Shirt designing competition and allowing some of our young people to be a part of the fundraiser.
The competition has been opened up as a creative exercise for BOOST participants. BOOST is a project fully funded by the Big Lottery Fund, for 18-25 year olds with mild to moderate learning difficulties. All BOOST participants, whether past or present, in the NorthEast or South Yorkshire, can get involved.
The winning design will be featured on the T-Shirt which James wears during the marathon. The only requirements are that the shirt must incorporate Endeavour branded colours and the Endeavour motto, “Empowering young people”.
BOOST South Yorkshire project co-ordinator, Nicola Lane, has overseen some of the BOOST participants from Rotherham College whilst they designed their shirts. Nicola says that “BOOST activities they participated in have been inspiring some of the designs, for example they were using key words such as ‘teamwork’ and ‘enterprise’, as well as putting on pictures of trains and pizzas.”
