T-Shirt Design Competition

T-shirt Winners!

The closing date for the t-shirt design competition was the end of December 2011; we had many entries sent in from the East Midlands and the North East.

The Endeavour judging panel have finally cast their votes for the competition. Due to receiving entries from Nottingham, Chesterfield and Hartlepool we chose the best designs from each area and the winners are as follows:

Elliott Reynolds – Winner from Nottingham

Gage Richardson – 2nd runner up from Chesterfield

Jake Taylor – 3rd runner up from Hartlepool

Endeavour would like to thank everyone who entered the competition and urge you to watch this space for more information on how you can purchase the winning t-shirt!

North East 10K Run

5 members of the North East team and one very dedicated volunteer ran the Tees Pride 10k run on Sunday 6th September 2009.  Despite some runners having minimal training and being fuelled by homemade flapjack alone, the team made it round in 1 hour and 22 minutes!  An impressive time considering 3 runners where carrying collection pots which got heavier and heavier thanks to donations given by the fantastic supporters lining the route.  The whole team had a great time and where spurred on by the variety of musical entertainment including rock bands, a steel band and a brass band, outside pubs, churches and even in front gardens along the route!  Almost £90 was collected on the day and once sponsorship is collected in the team is hoping to have over £600 to invest in new equipment – well worth the aching legs!

Marathon at Decathlon

Decathlon Logo

Decathlon Staff run a Marathon in aid of Endeavour....Indoors!

The staff at the Sheffield branch of Decathlon are putting on their running shoes to run a whole Marathon indoors on a treadmill in aid of Endeavour.

This amazing feat of endurance will be performed by the staff of Decathlon, who will be sharing this hard effort between them on Saturday 25th July in the middle of the store in Sheffield.

Endeavour staff will be on hand to give out leaflets about Endeavour and it's programmes and volunteering opportunities and collect donations from the public.

Come along and cheer them and perhaps do a little shopping whilst you're at it!

Endeavour says a hearty thanks to all the efforts made by the staff, the money will go to a very good cause.

Spend some time with the map

Do some map work to prepare yourselves for the challenge.

  • Plan your route from your accommodation to the Signing-in and breakfast at Norbury Village Hall. This will be early on Saturday morning, before it gets light.
  • The start for the Endurance course is at Norbury Junction, and the Marathon+ course begins at Autherley Junction. Marathon+ teams must find their way from Norbury to Autherley Junction at the start of the Blue Section.
  • Check out the changeover points at make a plan for which one your team will use. The satellite view on the internet map will allow you to have a close view of the whole route and often shows lay-bys.
  • Plan your driving route around the course. Drivers will rely on the team navigating for them.
  • Plan your route from the finish at Barlaston back to the Beaconside University campus for the Presentation.

Good planning will greatly improve your time over the course.
