New Horizons

The aim of the New Horizons programme is to reintegrate young offenders back into the community through education, training and employment.

Support Workers 

  • Work in partnership with Youth Offending Team Case Workers to ensure an effective and robust referral process.
  • Ensure support is provided to engage young offenders pre, during and post release.
  • Ensure that IAG Support is provided to engage young offenders during and after their community order.
  • Work in partnership with parents/carers.

What Can We Offer

  • Help an advise young people, by exploring different career options and areas of work.
  • Promote interview techniques and skills.
  • Assist young people with intensive job searches using our own employer database, the Internet and local papers with a view to securing full time employment.
  • Help complete application forms and send them off.
  • Accompany young people to find company premises.
  • Liaise with other professionals such as YOT Case Workers and Connexions.

Support May Include 

  • Accredited Learning- Helping with applications, supporting returns to school, enrolling onto college courses and helping find training providers.
  • Basic Skills- Skills for life e.g. budgeting, literacy and numeracy.
  • Skills Training- Using outdoor activities, motivational skills, team work and personal skills development.
